This sweater features a pattern inspired by old Norwegian traditions and is knitted from the bottom up.
You start with a ribbed hem, then move straight into the pattern and the body up to the underarms. The
body is set aside as you knit the sleeves. The sleeves and body are then joined, and you knit the yoke with
raglan decreases before finishing with some short rows and the neckline ribbing.
An important detail in the design is that you start with the pattern color as the base color and the main
color as the pattern color. This switches halfway through the pattern to create an almost invisible
transition.
The entire sweater is knitted with the same needle size, including the ribbing. This is to ensure the
ribbing does not become tighter than the rest of the sweater, giving the sweater a slightly boxy
look.
